Space Farming

As we know that Space food produced by NASA and the Russian Space Agency is very high in cost.This cost could be decreased if we start Farming in outer space.If we start farming in outer space it would not only be used up for food but also it would  decrease 25% of a humans daily requirements.Plantation in space  stations could turn the space station into an Artificial Eco-system. 

 Challenges 

there Are certain challenges faced in the present time,some of them are

• THE AFFECT OF REDUCTION GRAVITY COMPARED TO THAT OF EARTH
• EXTREME CONDITIONS OF SOLAR ENERGY 
• GROWTH OF PLANTS UNDER LOW PRESSURES 
• LESS ABUNDANCE OF CARBON DIOXIDE
• LOW HUMID CLIMATE 
• LESS PRODUCT  IN MORE SPACE   
• SHORTAGE OF WATER
• DEFICIENCY OF CERTAIN MANURES AND FERTILISES NEEDED TO THE PLANTS   

 Some of these challenges have been sorted out. They are

• There are certain lights which are used instead of  sun's light.
• The idea of modified step farming could be used
• Sufficient  amount of carbon dioxide would be people if there are as many people as the plantation requires
• Humid climate could be controlled by the use of green houses.These green house would contain the sensors which would everything which the plant wants like water humidity etc.
• These sensors could be even modified to work automatically.
• As water is a major problem in space,we can either plant the plant that consume less water or could plant normal plant and we should consume less water.
• Next step is to recycle the water as much as possible. Excreta[URINE] could be recycled and could be made drinking safe. This is going on in space at the present time 
• We should try and reduce the non-biodegradable wast such as  plastic,etc
